Agape Blitz
“Seek the Peace and safety of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it has peace, you too will have peace…” Jeremiah 29:7
The prophet Jeremiah shared with the Judean captives, in Babylon, that they were called to bless their city, even though it was vastly different from their Jerusalem home. The word Shalom (peace) occurs three times in the passage. Often we hear people complain about their cities, communities, or country. We believe that God has offered us an opportunity to serve, bless, and show Jesus in our communities.
Agape Blitz is a response to God’s call to bless our cities.

Agape Blitz 2025
Dates = June 2-6, July 7-11, 14-17
Research indicates that 25-33% of females have experienced intimate partner violence. Leaving the abusive partner is one of the most dangerous times for these women and their children. Children witnessing abuse also suffer emotionally, physically, and mentally. Thanks to the hard work of local advocates many safe homes exist for these families to leave, find safety, heal, and move to more permanent housing. In addition to this, government spending has decreased to help families leaving violent homes. This summer we partner with local advocates to repair, enhance, and develop these homes illustrating that Agape/love does not hurt. Groups are traveling from other parts of the United States, outside of Portland, and within our city to serve in this capacity.

Agape Blitz is a Season of Service in the Portland Area.
It all began with an idea to serve others. In 2007 the Agape Church of Christ began serving in the Portland area alongside the Love Portland movement. Since then hundreds of volunteers from youth groups, businesses, campus ministries, and area volunteers have donated thousands of hours to help build houseless villages, repair shelters, and create gardens in apartment complexes. Agape Blitz is a great time to serve with others, grow closer to your team, learn from those who are vulnerable in our community, and enjoy the beautiful Northwest United States.
It all begins with an idea. After serving at Agape Blitz individuals have returned to their community to lead summer projects or began new ministries to serve the vulnerable in our cities. Would you join us this summer?
